Bowlers and Erin Burns starred as Australia ‘A’ Women beat India ‘A’ Women by three wickets in the third unofficial ODI at the Allan Border Field in Brisbane on Monday and won the three-match series 2-1.
After electing to bat, India ‘A’ were 0/2 as Molly Strano, who scalped three wickets in the match, dismissed Shafali Verma and Nuzhat Parween in the second over.
Annabel Sutherland then reduced India ‘A’ to 35/4 as she got the wickets of Priya Punia and Devika Vaidya.
While skipper Veda Krishnamurthy scored 35 and Arundhati Reddy scored 45, Australia ‘A’ restricted India ‘A’ to 176/9.
Australia ‘A’ too had their share of struggle in the chase as Dayalan Hemalatha, who scalped three wickets, reduced the hometeam to 92/6.
However, Burns, who had scored a brisk hundred in the second match of the series, scored an unbeaten 53 to help Australia ‘A’ win the match and the series.
The two teams will now square off in a three-match T20 series, starting December 19.
