India batsman believes expectations of playing at home will put Australia under the pump
With just a day left for the big semi-final between India and Australia, star batsman Virat Kohli believes Australia will be under immense pressure when they walk out at the SCG on Thursday. “Australia in Australia at the SCG with a full house in a semi-final clash – they are under massive pressure to win this World Cup,” Kohli said, in a chat with bcci.tv. “We have nothing to lose if you see the situation and the opposition. People are expecting them to win and they know that as well.” Kohli was also of the view that the clash between two powerhouses will be an exciting one. “We are playing some really good counter-attacking cricket and that is exactly the way Australia are playing as well. It is going to be like punches thrown in a boxing match where you don’t know who is going to get knocked out. The one that holds composure on that day will come out victorious. I am confident of our side, the way we have played this tournament. “It has been pleasing to watch the bowlers take 70 wickets. It is one area that we always wanted to improve on. The way it has come out in the World Cup, it has been magnificent. Everyone has contributed towards the team’s success and that is why we are in the position that we are in. It is going to be emotional, aggressive, and passionate and a lot of flamboyant cricket will be seen. “It is certainly going to be an occasion that I would always remember all my life. It has been just a wonderful journey so far and the icing on the cake is left. We are going to go all out and there is no doubt about that. We are not going to leave anything in the tank in these games.”
