BCCI condoles the death of Biswanath Dutt

The BCCI condoles the death of former president Biswanath Dutt who passed away on Monday morning following prolonged illness. Dutt, 93, was elected as the president for a one-year term from 1988-89 to 1989-90. An efficient administrator committed to help cricketers and build the profile of the game; Dutt also served as the secretary and chief of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB). Before being appointed the BCCI president, Dutt also served as the Board’s vice-president from 1980-81 to 1987-88 (barring the 1981-82 season). He is credited for Jagmohan Dalmiya’s foray into cricket administration. During his tenure as CAB secretary, Dutt appointed Dalmiya as treasurer of the association and it was there that his journey as one of the best administrators took shape.
