Continuing with its mission to provide more opportunities to budding cricketers from the North East and for talented cricketers from Bihar, a combined team of Associate & Affiliate members to take part in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy (East Zone) has been picked. The Board hosted The Associate & Affiliate Tournament (Under-19) at Alur, Bangalore from 15th to 21st September with six teams from five North East States (Arunachal, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Nagaland and Manipur) and a team from Bihar competing in a league cum knock-out format. The teams were divided into two groups with the top two from both groups qualified for the semi-finals.‬‬ The matches were being closely observed by the All-India Junior Selection Committee Chairman, Venkatesh Prasad and selection committee member Rakesh Parikh, who then selected a 15-member team with five players on stand-by list.
