The off-spinner lauds his teammate for consistent performances in Indian conditions
Hyderabad, Nov 14:Showering lavish praise on speedster Zaheer Khan, Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh on Saturday said that it was heartening to see a fast bowler do so well, consistently, on Indian pitches.
Harbhajan, who claimed four wickets on Day two, expressed satisfaction on his performance and added that the track was a good Test wicket.
Excerpts:
On his team’s strategy:
We have to bat well to put ourselves in a position of strength and go on to win this Test. We are off to a very good start. Once we take a significant lead, we hope to let the ball do the talking. This wicket is a really good Test wicket.
On Zaheer Khan’s four wicket haul:
It was great to see Zaheer bowl at his best, which he has been doing for the last two years. Really exceptional bowling, especially in Indian conditions where even bowlers from abroad struggled.
On his performance:
I am really satisfied with my bowling today. I cannot say how and why it happened with regard to Jesse Ryder's dismissal. But, it was a key wicket for us.
On his favourite Test cricket track:
I think the best track I played on for a long, long time was the CCI wicket in Mumbai and the last time I played on a turner was at Kanpur a couple of years ago.
On the possibility of Sachin Tendulkar making his 50th Test century
It would be great to see Sachin get to his 50th Test hundred. It would be great for all of us and for Indian cricket.
