Border-Gavaskar Trophy: Rohit Sharma – Update

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is pleased to inform that Team India captain Mr. Rohit Sharma and his wife Mrs. Ritika Sajdeh have been blessed with a baby boy. Both the mother and the newborn are healthy and doing well.

Mr. Sharma has requested a brief leave of absence to be with his family during this special time and will miss the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He will rejoin the squad ahead of the second Test and participate in the two-day pink-ball warm-up match in Canberra.

The BCCI extends its warmest congratulations to the Sharma family as they embrace this precious moment and request everyone to respect their privacy during this time.

Mr. Jasprit Bumrah will lead the Indian Cricket Team in the first Test at Perth, scheduled from 22nd November.

Meanwhile, the Senior Men’s Selection Committee have added Mr Devdutt Padikkal to India’s Test squad for the five-match series.
