Summary
Jaffer’s ton not enough for an outright win for Mumbai
Mumbai, Nov 4: Mumbai began their season with a dull draw against a gritty Saurashtra side despite Mumbai skipper, Wasim Jaffer’s unbeaten ton on the final day of the match. The stylish right-hander scored 103* off 220 balls to ensure that the holders at least took home the three points courtesy a first-innings lead. Middle order batsman, Rohit Sharma gave ample support to his captain during his unbeaten knock of 74.
And the batting bonanza continued elsewhere too as Bengal shared the spoils with Delhi in their Ranji Trophy Super League match at the Feroz Shah Kotla. The Bengal bowlers did well to restrict the hosts to 459- 14 runs short of matching the visitors’ first-innings total.
