It was a wonderful Test series for India and the hard-fought victory in the final Test will give them immense satisfaction as South Africa put up a good fight. They played the Indian spinners very well and it looked like their batting improved a lot. The Indian spinners had to earn their wickets. It was an exciting game and the credit must go to the Indian bowlers. Virat Kohli handed the ball to Umesh Yadav and he said “A bowler is as good as the captain thinks he is.” He meant that if a captain feels his bowler is good, then the bowler will come up with a good performance. It is a captain’s belief in his bowlers that works. It was a striking feature of Kohli’s captaincy that despite the track, assisting the spinners, he is not going to completely ignore his fast bowlers. To beat South Africa 3-0 is no easy task, but India have done that. Hats off to Virat Kohli and his boys.
