Hope to pick up wickets: Botha
Summary

Local boy feels chasing successfully at Port Elizabeth is not an impossible task

Port Elizabeth, Jan 20: Local cricketer Johan Botha spoke briefly to the media before the fourth ODI of the series about his role in the team and playing at home.

Excerpts from the chat

On his expectations from his home ground at Port Elizabeth

It looks genuine, looks like what it normally [does]. [It’s] pretty dry and [there’s a] little bit of dry grass. I think it will just be a big [score] wicket and hopefully [yield] 270- 280 […] Normally, going by [the wicket] at Cape Town, you would say to bat second is really odd. But we have [executed] some big chases here in the last two years so if we have to bat second here, we can chase well.

On his fantastic form in the series and the World Cup ahead

I think [I’d] obviously like to get a couple of more wickets. I think I bowled pretty well [though] one or two overs have gone for a few runs. But I am happy, [things have] gone my way. My job normally in the middle is to stop the game [from getting away], keep it nice and tight - and if you pick up wickets, it’s a bonus. So I hope I can pick up a few.
