Services register their first win of the season

With a win against Jammu & Kashmir, Hyderabad have displaced Andhra from the top of the table. While Andhra lost to Goa, Haryana’s first innings lead against Himachal have tied them on points with Andhra. While Andhra and Haryana are at No 2 and 3 with the net run-rate determining their position, Kerala are at No 4 with 22 points. One can look forward to exciting finishes as the top two teams (Hyderabad and Andhra) compete while Haryana take on Tripura and Kerala face-off against Services. Services beat Chhattisgarh and replaced them at No 9 in the group points table in the penultimate round of Ranji Trophy 2016-17. While he missed his ton by a run, his partner Bhavin Thakker missed his half-century by three runs as he followed Azharudeen back to the dressing room three runs later. Gurinder Singh who claimed both the openers also bowled Jalaj Saxena to leave Kerala on 163 for three. Salman Nizar and Sachin Baby then took the team to victory. The Mohit Sharma-led team picked three points from the game as they look to keep themselves in the fray for a place in the knockouts while, HP picked one point.
