Sachin Tendulkar to play warm-up tie against the Kiwis
Chennai, Feb 16: India won the toss and elected to bat first against New Zealand in their second warm-up match being played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium at Chepauk, in the run-up to the World Cup .
India skipper MS Dhoni said, the track usually has a good bounce and turn so he expects it to be a good ODI wicket. Also since the crowd in Chennai loves watch Sachin Tendulkar bat, India batting first would give Sachin that opportunity.“Warm-up games help to test a few players so that’s what we are doing”, he added.
New Zealand skipper Daniel Vettori will be missing this match due to a niggle. He has strained his hamstring and will be rested as a precautionary measured. Ross Taylor, the stand-in captain, feels that the Kiwis are well prepared and look forward to keep the momentum going.
