Bowlers bundle out Thailand for 55 in the second game of ICC Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier

India Women’s posted their second successive win of the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier with a nine-wicket against Thailand Women. The Mansi Joshi-led (3/4) attack skittled out Thailand for just 55 runs. MD Thirushkamini then took India across the line with an unbeaten 24 runs. After Thailand elected to bat in the ongoing tournament in Sri Lanka, Shikha Pandey set the ball rolling by trapping N Chantam lbw with four runs on the board. Joshi then followed up with the wicket of S Saengsakaorat with the opposition fumbling on six for two. After keeping the Thailand batters tied down Joshi dealt a double blow in the eight over. She accounted for R Padunglerd and S Tippoch leaving the opponents reeling at 10 for four. Thailand couldn’t recover from the early blows and collapsed like a pack of cards. The spinners then ran through the rest of the lineup and wrapped-up the innings in 29.1 overs. Poonam Yadav claimed N Koncharoenkai and Deepti Sharma accounted for N Boochatham two runs later. C Sutthiruang, who fought it out for 28 balls to make 12 runs, was the next to be sent back to the dressing room by Yadav with Thailand on 40 for seven. Rajeshwari Gayakwad then picked the wickets of S Laomi and R Sangsoma with the opposition on 54 for nine. Sharma then brought curtains down on the innings with the wicket of S Lateh. MD Thirushkamini then opened the innings with Harmanpreet Kaur and the pair added 32 runs until the latter was sent back for 15. Veda Krishnamurthy then joined the opener in taking India to the 56-run target in 12.4 overs.
