It’s my day: Younis
Summary

Pakistan middle-order batsman confident of a good knock

Mirpur, Mar 18: Pakistan’s middle-order batsman Younis Khan is hoping to strike form in the vital match against India as the race for final spots in the Asia Cup intensifies. In a brief pre-match interview, he spoke about the pressure that characterises contests between the sub-continental neighbours.

Excerpts:

On the match

It is going to be a tough game but we will enjoy it. We have played in Dhaka and there are a lot of supporters for India and Pakistan here. It will be a fun game.

On dealing with pressure

India-Pakistan games are all about handling the pressure so whoever handles the pressure better will be on the winning side.

On his own form

You know about that; but I think today will be my day. I will try hard [and give it my best].

On the brief to players who have not been part of India-Pakistan matches before

We have discussed that. It is only a game so if you go out there and play your own game, [...] you will do well. It is all about how you deal with the pressure.
