InGroup B, defending champions Gujarat finished the league phase with a comprehensive win over Jharkhand. Kerala too galloped into the quarter-finals with a thumping win over Haryana. In Group C, Madhya Pradesh joined Mumbai for the knockout phase of the Ranji Trophy 2017-18. Vidarbha and Bengal from Group D have reached the next phase of the ongoing tournament. Although they have not made it to the knockouts, Baroda and Maharashtra are the other teams to finish the league phase of the ongoing season of the premiere multi-day tournament on a winning note.
