They were playing a match in Jalandhar against Sri Lanka and I was a ball-boy there, about 10-11 years old. I saw them pass one by one from beside me – Kapil Dev, Anil Kumble, Javagal Srinath and Sachin Tendulkar. I looked at them and went, ‘Wow!’. I was particularly in awe of Sachin paaji. I had heard what a great player he was when I saw him, I just kept staring. That’s when I realised what greatness is.
