Far end of Rajiv Gandhi Stadium named after retired batting legend
Hyderabad, Aug 24: VVS Laxman’s name may no more feature on India’s Test Playing XI. However, the legendary batsman from Hyderabad has his name carved out permanently on the far end of the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium.
Hyderabad Cricket Association had announced during Laxman’s retirement press conference that the north stand of the stadium will be named after him. A board saying ‘VVS Laxman Pavilion’ duly went up ahead of the first Test between India and New Zealand, in Hyderabad.
