Vadodara, Jan 27: West Zone ended Day 2 of the first semi-final against North Zone at 176/ 5 at Moti Bagh stadium in Vadodara. West Zone now trail by 284 runs in the first innings. Skipper Wasim Jaffer made 53 runs and Ajinkya Rahane scored 30 off 46 deliveries.

At the end of the day’s play, Surashtra batsman Ravindra Jadeja remained not out on 62 with Pinal Shah for company.

Resuming on an overnight score of 315/5, North Zone were all out for 460 runs in the first innings.

Carrying forward from their previous day’s scores of 55 and 32, wicketkeeper Uday Kaul made 89 runs while Amit Mishra missed his half-century by just two runs. Left-handed Sumit Narwal played a cameo of 59 off 53 balls with five sixes and four fours.

Samad Fallah and Jaidev Unadkat finished their spells with a four-for each.
