Summary
Having scored a valuable 36* runs, Suresh Raina is hoping to come good with the ball too
Mohali, March 30: After Sachin Tendulkar’s departure and subsequent fall of wickets, Suresh Raina held-up one end for India scoring an unbeaten 36 runs in the semi-final against Pakistan. The left-hander spoke about the pitch and chase in a brief chat with the media.
On the target of 261 set by India
I think 260 is going to be enough. We have Harbhajan [Singh] and Yuvraj Singh, the wicket is spinning at the moment and I hope if we bowl in good areas, it’s not going to be easy for them.
On whether India were disappointed with the total considering the excellent start they got
I think yeah, but we had a good partnership in between, [we also] lost a couple of wickets in between. They bowled really well. But I think 260 is a very good total on this track.
On whether the side would miss R Ashwin on the spinning track
I’am there, Sachin [Tendulkar] also there. Let’s see hope for the best.
On having a role to play with the ball as well
Definitely.
