Mishra posts best ever figures
Trinidad, June 9: Amit Mishra produced the best ever bowling figures by an Indian in the West Indies when he took four for 31 in the second ODI of the five-match series against the hosts. Here’s a look at the stats highlights from the second ODI played at Port of Spain.
1 – The number of times India have won the first two games of a bilateral series in the Caribbean.
2 - Number of Indian wicketkeepers to perform the allround feat of scoring a fifty and effecting four dismissals in the same match. Parthiv Patel (56 runs, 2 catches and 2 stumpings) follows in the foot-steps of MS Dhoni, who scored an unbeaten 109 besides taking one catch and effecting three stumpings against Hong Kong at Karachi in 2008.
4 for 31 – Amit Mishra’s figures are the best by an Indian bowler in the Caribbean. This obliterates Noel David’s 3 for 21 at this same venue in 1997.
6 - Number of consecutive wins registered by India. The sequence started with the win against West Indies at Chennai on March 20, followed by win versus Australia at Ahmedabad on March 24, versus Pakistan at Mohali on March 30, versus Sri Lanka at Mumbai WS on April 2....and now two matches against West Indies.
53 - Number of innings taken by Virat Kohli to reach the 2,000 run-mark. Among Indian batsmen, only Navjot Singh Sidhu and Sourav Ganguly were faster to get to the mark, taking 52 innings each.
