Sharma and Harbhajan post best partnership against WI

Antigua, June 12: During the course of their three-wicket victory in the third ODI at Antigua,Rohit Sharma and Harbhajan Singh posted the best ever partnership for the seventh wicket by India against the West Indies. We bring you that and some of the other stats highlights from the third ODI played at North Sound, Antigua.

129 - Runs scored by the last three wickets for West Indies after first seven had managed just 96!

92 not out- Andre Russell’s score. This is the highest score by a number nine batsman in ODI history. He bettered India’s JP Yadav’s 69 against New Zealand at Bulawayo in 2005.

88 - The seventh wicket partnership of 88 runs between Rohit Sharma and Harbhajan Singh is India’s best for this wicket against West Indies in all matches. The previous best was 78 between Sachin Tendulkar and Harbhajan Singh at Kuala Lumpur in 2006.

78 - The eighth wicket partnership of 78 runs between Carlton Baugh and Andre Russell is West Indies’ best for this wicket at home against any country. The pair obliterated the previous record partnership of 49 (unbeaten) between Courtney Browne and Ian Bradshaw at Kingston in 2005.

12 - West Indies have now lost 12 consecutive bilateral series against Test-playing nations. They had last won a series against a major team in April 2008 when they beat Sri Lanka 2-0 in a three match series at home.

10 - Parthiv Patel’s 10 dismissals in the series (6 catches, 4 stumpings) are the most by an Indian wicketkeeper in a series against West Indies. Kiran More (in 1987-88), Nayan Mongia (in 1994-95) and Rahul Dravid (in 2002-03) shared the previous record with 7 dismissals.

7 - India have now won seven ODIs in a row. India can now equal their best winning sequence of 9 matches in ODIs if they manage to win the two remaining games in this series.

3 - The winning margin of three wickets equals India’s narrowest win over West Indies. They had also beaten West Indies by an identical margin at Jodhpur in 2002.

2 - Parthiv Patel made 4 dismissals for the second consecutive time in this series. He had made 2 catches and 2 stumpings at Port-of-Spain on June 8. Patel, however, just missed the allround double of scoring a fifty [he made 46] and making four dismissals.

0 - Number of times Rohit Sharma has been dismissed in the ODI series. He has now aggregated 161 runs without getting out even once!
