It has been an excellent day for India and I would like to talk about two stars of the day – Ajinkya Rahane and Ravindra Jadeja. He scored a century and more importantly played straight most of the time. In fact, he hit so many straight drives that two of those hit the stumps. I think that was the correct way to bat on the Kotla pitch and he proved that. Ravindra Jadeja was the second star of the day. It is said about him that Jadeja becomes unplayable on turning track. The Kotla pitch had turn but it was not a turner and Jadeja’s performance has been top-class. I think Jadeja would say this was the best bowling performance of his career. He uses subtle variations and makes use of the crease. When you look at him, you feel, a machine is bowling, but it is not the case. He made the ball turn and I feel Jadeja can be proud of his performance.
