Cheteshwar Pujara hit a double-century to help Saurashtra build on their first innings lead, while Jiwanjot Singh and Taruwar Kohli took Punjab past Jharkhand’s first-innings score with centuries. Jharkhand vs Punjab in Jamshedpur: Resuming their first innings on 150 for one on the fourth day, Jiwanjot Singh and Taruwar Kohli had powered the visitors to a first-innings lead. While Singh was bowled for 131 by the Jharkhand skipper Shahbaz Nadeem, Taruwar Kohli remained unbeaten on 151 when play ended today. Kohli was ably supported by Mandeep Singh after the departure of Singh, until he was sent back by Manish Vardhan for 96.
Punjab were 435 for three at stumps on Day 4 with a first-innings lead of 34 runs with seven wickets in hand.
Saurashtra vs Karnataka in Rajkot: Courtesy an unbeaten double-century by Cheteshwar Pujara, Saurashtra led by 536 runs with seven wickets in hand at the end of fourth day’s play against Karnataka.
The right-hander, who has been called up into the national squad for the ODI’s against England, was unbeaten on 261 at stumps, after securing the hosts’ a place in the semi-finals. Sheldon Jackson was batting on 70 with the top-order batsman when play ended today.
Mumbai vs Baroda in Mumbai: After taking guard on the fourth day on his overnight score of 10, Baroda’s middle-order batter Ambati Rayudu was stranded on 89 as he ran out of partners at the other end.
Debutant Vishal Dabholkar sent back Pinal Shah to give Mumbai their first breakthrough in the morning, while Ankit Chavan and Javed Khan wrapped up the tail to bowl Baroda out for 271 in the first innings. Mumbai then decided to bat again and were 171 for one when play ended on Day 4 with Kaustubh Pawar and Hiken Shah batting on 70 and 65 respectively.
With a day remaining in the match, Mumbai are through to the next round.
