Gujarat’s R Bhatt, TN’s Abhinav Mukund, Andhra skipper M Kaif were among those who completed their centuries on the second day while Andhra’s Siva Kumar, Tripura’s MB Murasingh, Odisha’s Basant Mohanty were amongst wickets on the second day of the sixth round of the Ranji Trophy 2014-15 season. Here are the highlights of the day Group A Bengal vs J & K: In reply to Bengal's 387, Jammu & Kashmir were trailing by 204 runs in the first innings with five wickets in hand at stumps. The visitors lost Asil Reshi in the third over and wickets continued to fall at regular intervals thereafter. However, holding up one end, ID Singh had scored 72 before being sent back by SS Lahiri. Shubham Pundir was batting on 34 with Bandeep Singh on 27. Earlier Bengal added 75 runs to their overnight score before being bowled out. Wriddhiman Saha who resumed on 129 was the last of the three Bengal wickets to fall in the morning, castled by Pravez Rasool for 166. Madhya Pradesh vs Karnataka: In reply to MP's 303, Karnataka were comfortably placed on 214/3 in the first innings at stumps on the second day. Manish Pandey was batting on 92 with Karun Nair on 30 when play ended on Wednesday. Earlier, after resuming on 270/7 MP were bowled out for the addition of 33 runs to their overnight total. Abhimanyu Mithun claimed 4/66 in the effort for Karnataka. Railways vs Baroda: Resuming on 271/7, Baroda were bowled out for 298 on the second day at the Karnail Singh Stadium in Delhi. Only 11.5 overs of play was possible on Wednesday due to bad light and little drizzle. Tamil Nadu vs Uttar Pradesh: Tamil Nadu were leading by 178 runs with three wickets in hand in the first innings at stumps of Day 2 against UP. Having bowled the visitors out for 182, the home team were 360/7 at the end of day's play, courtesy Abhinav Mukund's 140-run knock. While Baba Aparajith made 59, Baba Indrajith was batting on 77 with Malolan Rangarajan at the end of day's play. Group B Delhi vs Odisha: Resuming on 248/5, Delhi were bowled out for 353 in the morning by the Basant Mohanty-led attack. The pacer returned with 5/76 in the innings. Odisha were 25/1 when play was called off on the second day in Delhi. Gujarat vs Punjab: At 9/0, Punjab were trailing by 504 runs at stumps on Day 2 after Gujarat declared their first innings on 513/8 late in the day. RH Bhatt powered the hosts to a mammoth total with a patient 150-run knock in Ahmedabad after resuming on 37 in the morning. Maharashtra vs Team Rajasthan: Rajasthan lost their remaining three wickets on the second morning for the addition of 21 runs. Bowled by Samad Fallah, Puneet Yadav was the last to be sent back for 127. Although the Pankaj Singh led attack dealt early blows and left Maharashtra struggling on 124/6, lower middle-order batsmen, Chirag Khurana and Shrikant Mundhe stitched a partnership to take the team to 254 before the latter was sent back. And although Anupam Sanklecha and DJ Muthuswamy returned to the pavilion in quick succession, Khurana helped the team secure a first innings lead. Batting on 82 with Fallah (2*) he took Maharashtra to 274/9 at stumps. Vidarbha vs Saurashtra: With Shrikant Wagh accounting for B Chauhan and Kamlesh Makvana, Saurashtra were 20/2 at stumps and trailing by 563 runs in the first innings. Earlier, Vidarbha piled on 583/9 before declaring their innings on the second day. Adding to the sizeable score posted by centurions Faiz Fazal and Ganesh Satish on Day 1, S Badrinath (89), R Jangid (83) and S Wagh (81) helped beef up the total. Makvana claimed four wickets for Saurashtra. Group C Andhra vs Tripura: Skipper Mohammad Kaif's 109 after resuming on 40, powered Andhra to a sizeable first innings lead on Day 2. But the MB Murasingh-led Tripura attack bowled AP out for 303 earlier in the day. The bowler claimed 5/70 while Rana Dutta claimed three and S Majumder picked one wicket. Left reeling on 13/3 in the second innings by Siva Kumar and P Vijay Kumar at stumps Tripura were 146 runs at the end of day's play. Himachal Pradesh vs Jharkhand: No play on Day 2. Hyderabad vs Assam: Hyderabad trailed by 358 runs in the first innings with all wickets intact at stumps on Day 2. Earlier, after resuming their first innings on 248/4, Assam were bowled out for 393 on the second day. Services vs Goa: Deepak Punia (3/62) and S Yadav (4/92) helped bowl Goa out for 304 in the morning after resuming on 253/5. Services were 28/2 when play was called off at the Airforce Complex ground, Palam in New Delhi.
