TN, Saurashtra and Team Rajasthan post wins on Day 3

Tamil Nadu beat Mumbai and are firmly seated in the second position in the Group A table while Team Rajasthan beat Odisha in Group B. Kamesh Makvana and D Jadeja bowled Saurashtra to victory against Haryana on the penultimate day and were the third team to post a win in the seventh round on Friday. Here are the highlights of the day: Group A Karnataka vs Baroda: Baroda bowled Karnataka out for 302 on the third day and secured a 33-run first innings lead. Swapnil Singh claimed four while Irfan Pathan, S Manglorkar and Gagandeep Singh picked two wickets each in the effort. The visitors were 204/8 at stumps and lead by 237 runs. Swapnil was batting on 11 with Gagandeep on 19 at the end of day's play in Mysore. Tamil Nadu vs Mumbai: Tamil Nadu strengthened their position in the Group A points table with a comprehensive innings and 44-run win over Mumbai at the Chepauk. The home team bundled the visitors out for 232 in the second innings on Day 3 to claim seven points from the encounter. In reply to TN's 417, Mumbai, who were bowled out for 141 were playing catch-up in the second and fell short by a huge margin. Captain Suryakumar Yadav was the top-scorer for the side with 65 while Shreyas Iyer posted his second half-century of the game. But, the Rahil Shah-led attack wrapped-up the innings for 102.5 overs. Aushik Srinivas took three while Shah and Murali Vijay picked two wickets each. Uttar Pradesh vs Bengal: No play on Day 3 due to bad weather. Jammu & Kashmir vs Railways: Resuming on 50/1, Railways took their score to 213/4 in the 54 overs of play that was possible on Friday. There was no play on the second day. Group B Gujarat vs Vidarbha: Vidarbha were leading by 295 runs with two wickets in hand in the second innings at stumps on the third day. Resuming on 39/1 in the morning, the visitors were 307/8 at the end of day's play with Shrikant Wagh and A Wakhare in the middle. Shalabh Shrivastava scored a century before being sent back by Rush Kalaria. Ramesh Powar who had claimed a fifer in the first innings has claimed 5/99 so far in the Vidarbha innings. Maharashtra v Delhi: 187/5 at stumps on Day 3, Maharashtra were leading by 210 runs at stumps. Anupam Sanklecha helped bowl the hosts to a first innings lead earlier in the day by wrapping up the lower-order after Chirag Khurana set the ball rolling with the wicket of Gautam Gambir. The Delhi captain added just one run to his overnight score before being sent back for 94 in the morning. The hosts lost four of their top five batsmen for single-digit scores and were 82 for five but, R Tripathi and Khurana forged a partnership to revive the innings. Sumit Narwal and Parvinder Awana have claimed two wickets apiece in the innings so far. At the end of day's play, R Tripathi was batting on 40 with Khurana on 63. Odisha v Team Rajasthan: Team Rajasthan cantered to a ten-wicket win against Odisha to collect seven points from the match. Earlier, Odisha were bowled out for 144 without adding to their overnight score and asked to follow-on. Deepak Chahar then removed opener S Sahoo in the second over while Tanveer-Ul-Haq claimed Natraj Behera and Govind Podder a while later. With Pankaj Singh he ran through the middle-order to push Odisha further back in the corner. Useful contributions by the lower-order besides A Sarangi's 56 and P Das' 45 made Team Rajasthan bat again. However, R Bist and P Sharma cashed down the measly 39-run target in less than seven overs to claim victory. Saurashtra v Haryana: Saurashtra picked six points from their 62-run win against Haryana in Rajkot. Resuming their second innings on 162/3, the hosts scored 213 before being bowled out by the J Yadav-led attack. The Haryana bowler who had claimed seven wickets in the hosts first innings picked 6/90 in the second innings. Having set the visitors a 226-run target, D Jadeja and Kamlesh Makwana returned to bowl Saurashtra to a convincing win. While Makwana, who had picked six wickets in the previous innings claimed both the openers and the last wicket of H Rana to wrap-up the innings; Jadeja, who had taken four in the first ran through the line-up and returned with 6/63 in the second innings. Group C Himachal Pradesh vs Andhra Pradesh: Resuming on their first day's score of 123/2, Andhra were 301/6 at stumps on Day 3. M Sriram scored 105 before being bowled by vikramjeet Malik and is so far the top-scorer for the side. Naren Reddy was batting on four when Ricky Bhui's was run out for 46 signaled the end of day's play. Goa vs Assam: Resuming on 243/5, Trajinder Singh's unbeaten century put Assam in a commanding position on the third day. Having bowled Goa out for 175 in the first innings, Assam declared their's on 435/8 on Day 3 to set-up a win. Goa were trailing by 178 with all wickets in tact at stumps on Friday evening. Jharkhand vs Hyderabad: After resuming their first innings on 55/1 on the third morning, Hyderabad were 377/7 at stumps in reply to Jharkhand's 556/9 declared. Hyderabad opener Akshath Reddy scored 133 before being castled by Shahbaz Nadeem while Ahmed Quadri made 73. However, the side are in danger of conceding a first innings lead to the hosts. At the end of day's play Ashish Reddy was batting on 54 with CV Milind on five as the visitors trail by 219 runs. Tripura vs Kerala: At stumps on Day 3, Tripura were trailing by 38 runs with eight wickets in hand in the second innings at Agartala. Earlier, Kerala declared their first innings on 301/9 after securing a first innings lead.
