Baroda beat UP, Team Rajasthan defeated Punjab, Hyderabad beat Tripura, Maharashtra beat Saurashtra while Andhra defeated Jharkhand on the final day of the fifth round of the Ranji Trophy 2014-15 season. Here are the highlights of the day: Group A Bengal vs Tamil Nadu: Bengal gained three points on the basis of their first innings lead in the drawn game against Tamil Nadu. Dinesh Karthik slammed an unbeaten century to take TN to 327/5 in the second innings when the match was called off. The visitors received one point for their efforts. Karnataka vs J & K: Karnataka won by innings and 30 runs on the third day. Mumbai vs Madhya Pradesh: Madhya Pradesh claimed three points on the basis of first innings lead against Mumbai. The visitors declared on their overnight score of 538/7 with a 134-run lead. Mumbai then lost opener Akhil Herwadkar with just 19 runs on the board but Aditya Tare and Shreyas Iyer (142*) ensured that the hosts averted a collapse and pulled off a draw. The Suryakumar-led side received one point from the game. Uttar Pradesh vs Baroda: Baroda received seven points for an outright victory over Uttar Pradesh. Resuming on 122/3 in the morning, UP were bowled out for 307 by the Swapnil Singh-led attack. The bowler claimed 6/91 after the follow-on was enforced to set up the match in Baroda’s favour. Baroda then chased down the 33-run target in 5.4 overs to claim victory. Group B Haryana vs Delhi: Delhi gained three points on the basis of the first innings lead against Haryana. There was no play on the last day of the game. Odisha vs Vidarbha: Vidarbha received three points on the basis of their first innings lead while Odisha picked up one point from the match. After Odisha declared their first innings on 137/9, Vidarbha scored 165/2 before declaring their innings on the fourth day. Chasing 269, Odisha were 117/6 when the match was called off. Team Rajasthan vs Punjab: Team Rajasthan won six points for their nine-wicket win over Punjab. Pankaj Singh and A Choudhary claimed four-wickets apiece to bowl Punjab out for 247 in the second innings after being asked to follow on. Punjab then chased down the meager 89-run target with ease to post a comprehensive win. Saurashtra vs Maharashtra: Maharashtra got seven points for their innings and 48-run win over Saurashtra. Akshay Darekar claimed seven wickets to bowl Saurashtra out for 198 in the second innings after being asked to follow on. Group C Andhra Pradesh vs Jharkhand: Andhra cruised to a nine-wicket win against Jharkhand on the fourth morning. The Mohammad Kaif-led side needed just 37 runs to in the morning to attain victory and claim six points from the encounter. DB Prasanth and M Sriram helped the team to the target in the first session. Assam vs Services: Assam won by five wickets. Himachal Pradesh vs Kerala: HP gained three points on the basis of their first innings lead against Kerala. Resuming on 61/4, Kerala were 254/8 when the match was called off. Rohan Prem scored 101 not out in the Kerala effort. Tripura vs Hyderabad: Chasing 45 runs, Hyderabad picked six points from a nine-wicket win over Tripura on the fourth day. Earlier, Tripura's second innings was wrapped-up for 351 on the fourth day after resuming on 240/4 setting Hyderabad a paltry 45-run target to win. CV Milind (4/83), Anwar Ahmed and Akash Bhandari claimed the remaining six Tripura wickets to set-up victory for Hyderabad. Tanmay Agarwal then took the team across the line in 6.5 overs. The opener remained unbeaten on 21 while Akshath Reddy was sent back for 27.
