Haryana beat Karnataka to reach semis

Mumbai, Jan 4: Haryana have beaten Karnataka to qualify for the Ranji Trophy 2011-‘12 semifinals a day before the scheduled close of play. Resuming on their overnight score of 122 for the loss of three wickets, Karnataka were bowled out for 262 runs. Haryana then reached the target of 142 runs with six wickets and a day to spare.

MPCA v Mumbai: Mumbai's innings ended on 434 after they had added 88 runs to their overnight score. Kaustubh Pawar could add just one run to his total before being sent back by Ishwar Pandey for 161 while Ankeet Chavan, who came in to bat at No. 9 yesterday, remained unbeaten on 102. TP Sudhindra, who is vying for the title of the leading wicket-taker of the tournament, dismissed Ramesh Powar to finish with a five-for.

When play ended on Day 3, MP were leading by eight runs with seven wickets in hand.

Hyderabad v Rajasthan: After posting a mammoth 421, Rajasthan bowled out Hyderabad for 144 runs earlier today and imposed the follow on. Gajendra Singh was the leading wicket-taker for Rajasthan with a four-wicket haul while Sumit Mathur and Vivek Yadav took two wickets apiece and Pankaj Singh claimed one. The hosts put up a better performance in the second innings and had scored 138 runs without losing a wicket at stumps.

Tamil Nadu v Maharashtra: Tamil Nadu posted a first-innings total of 415 before being bowled out today. In reply, Maharashtra had made 90 without losing a wicket when play was called off on Day 3.
