RI Singh slams 133; Tadauri bags four-for
Mumbai, Dec 6: Ravi Inder Singh (133) and Karan Goel (116*) slammed centuries for Punjab after they opted to bat first against hosts Rajasthan on the first day of the Ranji Trophy encounter between the two sides. At stumps, the visitors had posted 283 for the loss of three wickets at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Orissa v Karnataka: Electing to field first, Orissa had claimed six Karnataka wickets for 238 runs when play ended here today. Alok Mangaraj claimed three of the six wickets for the hosts while Biplab Bipin Samantray took two and Govind Poddar picked one.
Saurashtra v Mumbai: C R Pathak made 116 off 246 with 13 boundaries to take Saurashtra to 244 for the loss of two wickets against Mumbai at the Khandheri Cricket Stadium in Rajkot. Although Mumbai tried as many as seven bowlers in their quest to pick wickets, Zaheer Khan and Ramesh Powar were the only ones to claim a wicket each.
UPCA v Railways: Nitin Bille hit 123 while opener S Shukla missed his century by a mere two runs as Railways reached 282 for the loss of five wickets against UP after being asked to bat first.
MPCA v Delhi: Delhi's innings was wrapped up for 158 after the visitors won the toss and opted to bat first in Indore. S P Tadauri claimed a four-for while Amit Sharma took three wickets and Ishwar Pandey and Asif Ali picked one wicket each. In response, MPCA were struggling on 86 for the loss of six wickets at the end of Day 1.
Bengal v Tamil Nadu: Asked to bat by hosts Bengal, Tamil Nadu scored 261 for the loss of five wickets. Abhinav Mukund (83) top-scored for the visitors while Ashok Dinda claimed two wickets.
Kerala v Himachal Pradesh: Abhinav Bali made 120 after HP won the toss and chose to bat first. HP had posted 243 for the loss of two wickets at stumps on Day 1.
Tripura v SSCB: Opting to bat first against Services, Tripura were bowled out for 242 runs. Suraj Yadav and Muzzaffaruddin Khalid picked three wickets apiece while Nishan Singh took two and Pratik Desai and Abhishek Sakuja picked one each.
Jharkhand v Goa: Goa's Saurabh Bandekar and Robin D'Souza took three scalps each while Amit Yadav and SB Yadav took two apiece to bowl out Jharkhand for 218 on Day 1 of the Ranji Trophy match between the two sides. At stumps, Goa were trailing by 216 runs having already lost one wicket with just two runs on the board.
Hyderabad v J&K: Opting to bat first at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad had lost four wickets for 234 runs when play was called off on Day 1 with BP Sandeep batting on 94.
