Railways beat UP by an innings and 94 runs

Mumbai, Dec 8: Railways beat UP by an innings and 94 runs on Day 3 of the Ranji Trophy encounter between the two sides. Murali Kartik claimed a five-for as UP were bowled out in the second innings after being asked to follow on. Chasing 374, the hosts were bowled out for 79 and then 201 runs at the Mohan Meakins Cricket Stadium.

Baroda v Gujarat: Ambati Rayudu scored 105 as Baroda were all out for 330 in their second innings at the Moti Bagh Stadium; Baroda now lead by 364 runs.

Punjab v Rajasthan: Rajasthan have reached 321 for the loss of four wickets in Jaipur in reply to Punjab’s mammoth first-innings score of 597 runs. When play was called off, Robin Bist was batting on 104 with Rashmi Parida on 71.

Orissa v Karnataka: After taking a 23-run first-innings lead having bowled out Orissa for 255, Karnataka were 169 for the loss of six wickets at stumps on the third day. Stuart Binny was the leading wicket-taker for Karnataka with a five-for.

Saurashtra v Mumbai: Centuries by Suryakumar Yadav (111) and Hiken Shah (113) went in vain as Mumbai were bowled out for 360 in the first innings. SM Maniar picked five wickets while Jaidev Unadkat and KR Makvana took three and two wickets each. The visitors had scored three runs while following on when play ended on Day 3 at the Khandheri Cricket Stadium in Rajkot.

MPCA v Delhi: A five-wicket haul by TP Sudhindra, supported by Asif Ali (three wickets) and IC Pandey (two wickets), helped wrap up Delhi’s second innings for 296 earlier in the day. At stumps MP were trailing by 59 runs and had five wickets in hand and a day left.

Bengal v Tamil Nadu: Chasing 391 against Tamil Nadu, Bengal folded for 176 in the first innings and were 163 for the loss of four wickets after being asked to follow on. Yo Mahesh, who had claimed four wickets in the hosts’ first innings, has taken two more in the second innings.

Jharkhand v Goa: Jharkhand’s second innings ended on 204 runs with AR Yadav taking a five-for. RR D’Souza and SS Yadav claimed two wickets apiece while SS Bandekar picked one. At the end of day’s play, Goa had lost A S Kolambkar with 62 runs on board.

Hyderabad v J&K: Thanks to ID Singh’s unbeaten 168, J&K took a first innings lead by scoring 365 in response to Hyderabad’s 311. At the end of day’s play, the hosts were trailing by 31 runs with all wickets intact.

Tripura v SSCB: Scoring 253 in their first innings, Services bowled out Tripura for 227 runs in the second innings. SC Yadav led the attack with four wickets while Nishan Singh and KM Ahmed took three and two wickets respectively. At stumps, Services were batting on 23 for the loss of one wicket.
