Sandhu and O’Keefe pick four each to bowl Australia A to a 10-wicket win

On the morning of the fourth day Australia A secured a resounding 10-wicket win over India A in the second unofficial Test in Chennai. The visitors took the two-match series 1-0 after the first Test ended in a draw. After bowling India A out for 274 in the second innings, Australia A’s opening pair chased down the target of 61 runs in 6.1 overs to wrap up the match before lunch. India A resumed their innings from overnight score of 265 for 6 but could not add any significant amount to the total owing to Gurinder Sandhu’s triple strike. The Aussie pacer dismissed Shreyas Gopal (0), Varun Aaron (1) and Baba Aparajith (30) to pick three wickets in as many overs. Sandhu finished with figures of 4 for 76 in 21 overs.

Stephen O’Keefe returned to scalp India A’s last wicket, that of Shardul Thakur, finishing with four wickets as well.

Openers Cameron Bancroft (21 off 14) and Usman Khawaja (41 off 23) came out all guns blazing in a miniscule chase of 62 runs and achieved it in 6.1 overs. Khawaja, in particular went hard at the Indian bowlers, smashing seven fours and a six during his knock.
