There was no play on the first day of the Duleep Trophy final between South Zone and North Zone due to rain and a wet outfield at the Nehru Stadium in Kochi.

The Day 1 of the much anticipated game – with Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir joining the North Zone team – was called off later in the afternoon without even the toss taking place.

The semi-final between North Zone and East Zone at the same venue was decided on spin of coin earlier this week due to inclement weather.
