India ‘A’ declare on 411-5 after Shikhar’s 150

Bangladesh ‘A’ were trailing by 147 runs in the second innings with eight wickets in hand when play was called off on Day 2 of the three-day match against India ‘A’. Buoyed by captain, Shikhar Dhawan’s 150 the home team had declared their first innings on 411 for five earlier in the day with a 183-run lead. At stumps, the visitors were 36 for two with Mominul Haque (9*) and Liton Das (7*) in the middle. Earlier, after resuming their innings on 161 for one, India 'A' lost Dhawan eight runs short of Bangladesh ‘A’s first innings score of 228. The opener who, was unbeaten on 116 when he came out to bat on the second morning returned to the pavilion after scoring 150 off 146. After the left-handed batsman was sent back by Saqlain Sajib, Karun Nair then joined Shreyas Iyer in the middle. However, 12 runs later Iyer was bowled by Nasir Hossain for 38. Nair was joined by Vijay Shankar in the middle and the pair took the team to 340 until the former was castled by Jubair Hossain. The bowler also dismantled Shankar’s stumps a while later. With the middle-order batsman returning to dressing room for 86, India ‘A’ declared their innings. Ishwar Pandey then dealt the first blow to the visitors second innings by accounting for Anamul Haque with four runs on the board. Few overs later Jayant Yadav sent back Soumya Sarkar for 19. With the team on 21 for two Das joined Haque and the pair had taken Bangladesh ‘A’ to 36 when play had to be stopped due to bad light on Monday evening and couldn’t be resumed.
