South Africa ‘A’ piled on 293 for four at the Krishnagiri Stadium in Wayanad after electing to bat in the first of the two unofficial Tests against India ‘A’. Omphile Ramela’s 112 helped the visitors post a respectable score on the first day of the four-day game. At stumps, Temba Bavuma was batting on 55 with Dane Piedt who was yet to open his account. Earlier, Reeza Hendricks and Stiaan Van Zyl put together a 60-run opening stand until Jayant Yadav accounted for the later. Theunis de Bruyn then helped the opener take the team to 100 before Hendricks was sent back for 50 by Ishwar Pandey. 57 runs later, Axar Patel removed de Bruyn for 38 but Ramela and Temba Bavuma kept the India ‘A’ bowlers at bay.
