On the rain affected third day, India ‘A’ added 75 runs to their overnight total, extending the lead to 157 runs until stumps against South Africa ‘A’ in the second unofficial Test at the Krishnagiri Stadium. The Ambati Rayudu-led team were 417 for eight in the first innings when play was called off with Axar Patel (69*) and Karn Sharma (19*) in the middle. Rain allowed for only 22 overs of play on the penultimate day of the four-day match as the home team looked to post of a sizeable total on the board in reply to SA ‘A’s first innings score of 260. Amidst the rain interruptions Patel plodded on, on Day 3 and anchored the innings while India ‘A’ lost two wickets.
