Rasool claims fiver; Ind A trail by 305 runs

India A were trailing by 305 runs in the first innings with seven wickets in hand at the end of Day 2 in the first four-day match at Gangothri Glades Cricket Ground in Mysore.

Earlier resuming on the overnight score of 264 for five, the touring West Indies A side added 165 runs before being bowled out. Assad Fudadin, who was unbeaten on four when he came to the crease in the morning, remained not-out on 86. The middle-order batsman anchored the innings to take his side to a comfortable first innings total of 429 during his 201-ball knock. Chadwick Walton was the first to depart earlier in the day, trapped leg-before by Ishwar Pandey. Nikita Miller who replaced him in the middle made an 86-ball 49 before being run-out. And Parvez Rasool claimed the last three WI A batsmen to finish with a five-wicket haul.

In response, the home team finished the day on 124 for the loss of three wickets. The opening stand between Lokesh Rahul and Jiwanjot Singh was broken for 45 by Veerasammy Permaul. And four runs later, Miguel Cummins sent back the India A captain Cheteshwar Pujara to leave the hosts on 49 for two. Rahul and Manprit Juneja then added 60 runs for the third wicket, before Miller struck to end the blossoming partnership.

When play ended Juneja and Harshad Khadiwale were batting on 47 and five respectively.
