Opting to field first, the India A medium pacers ran through the West Indies A line-up to bowl the visitors out for 268 on the first day of the last four-day game of the series. After Zaheer Khan got the ball rolling with an early breakthrough, Abhishek Nayar claimed four, while Dhawal Kulkarni picked three wickets to halt the WI A first innings. Having batted for five overs, the hosts were 10 without loss at stumps at the KSCA Hubli Cricket Ground.
Earlier, Kraigg Brathwaite edged Khan to the ‘keeper to depart for one, while Kieran Powell was castled by Kulkarni a while later. Although Leon Johnson held up one end with his 148-ball 81, West Indies A lost wickets at regular intervals after Nayar ended the third wicket partnership between the No.3 bat and Narsingh Deonarine for 70.
