With a six-wicket loss to New Zealand, India women have conceded the three-match T20I series to the visitors 0-2 with the last match scheduled on Wednesday. Asked to bat first in Bangalore, Vanitha VR (41) top-scored for the hosts’ as they posted 136 for six on the board. White Ferns opener Rachel Priest then ensured a convincing win for NZ with a 34-ball 60. The visitors’ chased down the sub-par total with 13 balls to spare. Earlier, India captain Mithali Raj was run out in the first over with just two runs on the board. Seven runs later, Latika Kumari was sent back by Sophie Devine. While Vanitha kept the hosts’ innings in fray, they lost the rest of the middle-order at regular intervals. In the chase, Goswami sent back Suzie Bates for a duck off the second ball of the innings. However, Priest put NZ in command with a quick-fire knock before returning to the pavilion. Coming together at 92 for four, Amy Satterthwaite (24*) and Katie Perkins (23*) then took the White Ferns to a thumping win.
