Master Blaster declared fit after undergoing scans on his left knee
Mumbai, Feb 21: Sachin Tendulkar gave his fans an injury scare when he underwent a scan on his left knee after returning from Bangladesh at Mumbai’s Lilavati hospital.
Tendulkar met doctors at the Bandra hospital where he underwent an MRI scan on the knee. “It was just a precautionary measure, nothing serious at all,” Tendulkar said. Sources said the scan was suggested to rule out any serious injury after the batsman complained of discomfort in the knee.
Tendulkar, who just equalled Javed Miandad’s record of playing in the highest number of World Cup editions (6), had recently had to return from the ODI series in South Africa owing to a hamstring strain. The batsman scored 28 runs in India’s opening game against Bangladesh at the 2011 ICC World Cup and was involved in a 69-run opening stand with Virender Sehwag.
Tendulkar will now join the rest of the Indian team at Bengaluru for their upcoming game against England on February 27.
