The All-India Senior Selection Committee have named R. Samarth in the India A team to tour South Africa for four-day games. The Karnataka opener will replace Abhinav Mukund after the Tamil Nadu opener was named in India’s squad for the three-match Test series against Sri Lanka.

Samarth made his first-class debut in 2013 against Mumbai and has played 29 first-class games. He has scored 2073 runs with five centuries and nine half-centuries and averages 42.30. It was in the last season that he made his top score of 235 against Jharkhand.
