Vidarbha vs Kerala: Vidarbha 105/10 in 19.3 overs (U Patel 28, N Nizar 3/14, M Krishanan 3/29, F Ahmed 2/21) lost to Kerala 109/8 in 18.4 overs (R Prem 34, N Surendran 21, A Wakhare 2/26, R Thakur 2/19) by 2 wickets The Kerala pacers skittled out Vidarbha for 105 with three balls to spare. Niyas Nizar claimed three for 14, while Manu Krishanan claimed three of the lower order wickets and off-spinner Fabid Ahmed picked two wickets to bowl the opposition out. However, the Kerala batsmen made heavy weather of a small target. They managed to overhaul the sub-par total with only eight balls to spare and by two wickets. While Rohan Prem top-scored with 34 runs, the rest of the batters were kept on a tight leash by the Vidarbha attack. Group B

Gujarat vs Jharkhand: Jharkhand 142/6 in 20 overs (I Jaggi 39, V Singh 29, R Kalakria 2/34) lost to Gujarat 146/4 in 14.1 overs (P Panchal 35, M Juneja 33, C Gandhi 25, K Singh 2/21) by 6 wickets

With Uttar Pradesh having won their first two matches, Gujarat had to win comprehensively against Jharkhand to improve their net run-rate. Gujarat’s Keeping that in mind, Gujarat elected to field after winning the toss and their bowlers restricted Jharkhand to 142. As has often has been the case, RP Singh struck the first blow. Although they got wickets at regular intervals, Ishank Jaggi's 24-ball 39 and Kumar Deobrat's 12-ball 21 later in the innings helped them to 142. The Gujarat captain appreciated the bowling unit’s efforts later to keep the opposition in check. Rush Kalaria claimed two wickets while Jasprit Bumrah, S Shinde and Rujul Bhatt claimed a wicket each. Chasing the target, although Parthiv Patel got out early after scoring 10-ball 16, the middle-order took on the Jharkhand attack as they looked to race to the target.

"We had to win by 50 runs (margin) or get the runs in 15.3 overs to just go past UP so that we can put pressure on them, but it is good that we got it done in 14.1 overs so," Parthiv elaborated later. Priyank Panchal (35 off 28) and Manprit Juneja (33 off 24; 2x4 and 2x6) kept them on course and scored at a quick pace as was required. Chirag Gandhi (25* off 11; 1x4 and 2x6) and Kalaria (15* off 5; 2x6) then clobbered the bowlers to take the team to the target.

Speaking about the must-win game after pocketing the victory, Parthiv said, "We like this format the, way we play. We back oursleves to do the job. We had a good game against UP. We lost in the last over, but I thought we have done well so far. "We were looking to finish the game and if one wicket had fallen we would have won the game in normal course but we had to go as quickly as possible," he added. Gujarat will now have to wait to see if the Suresh Raina-led team lose to Delhi. If that happens the team with a better run rate amongst UP, Delhi and Gujarat would enter the finals.
