Manchester, Aug 31: India won the toss at Old Trafford and opted to bat first in the only T20I being played here at Manchester.
Rahul Dravid will be making his T20I debut for India.
Captain speak:
MS Dhoni (India):
On winning the toss and opting to bat first: we will look to put runs on the board and defend it.
On the pitch: I think it maybe on the slower side and as the game progresses it may slow down provided there is no rain.
On the series ahead: We tried to be competitive in the Test series also but it doesn’t always go your way. We are expecting some good cricket in the coming ODIs.
On how good it is to have youngsters in the team: especially the fielding department if you see the format it’s a very demanding format so it is good to have six –seven good fielders coming into the side [who] are very well known for their fielding. It will definitely help us.
On Rahul Dravid: He is an exciting cricketer, one-off game where he won’t be under pressure, [he] can actually go out there and express himself.
Stuart Broad (England):
On losing the toss: we would actually bowled. Toss is really not that important, it is how you deliver your skills so we are looking forward to bowl.
On the team: We have trained very well over the past few days. The boys have shown the skill domestically and now it’s a chance to show [the skills] internationally.
On the one-off T20 games: You got to take the opportunities as they arise and we got to take them.
