Tremlett fit for second Test
Summary

England pacer picked in squad for Trent Bridge Test

London, July 27: Chris Tremlett, part of England’s pace trinity that also boasts Stuart Broad and James Anderson, bowled with a hamstring niggle in India’s second innings in the first Test at Lord’s. However, the pacer has been included in the squad for the second Test as England retain their successful 12-member team from the landmark 100th Test between England and India.

England’s Test skipper Andrew Strauss was quoted as saying on Tremlett’s fitness, "He seems fine. He has a little niggle but I think he should be fine.”

"He's an important player for us and has troubled everyone he has come up against. It's not surprising when you are as tall and strong as he is. He's the real deal and he's definitely added something to our attack," Strauss added.

The pacer claimed three wickets in India’s first innings and one in the second as England beat India by 196 runs in the first Test of the four-match series. It remains to be seen if India’s pace spearhead Zaheer Khan will have recovered similarly from a hamstring strain that kept him out of action for most of the Lord’s Test.
