Delhi and Assam to face off in Final

Delhi beat Bengal, while Assam beat Kerala in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2013 semi-final clashes in Vizag.

Bengal vs Delhi: Delhi beat Bengal by six wickets to book a berth in the domestic one-day final.

Playing at the Port Trust Diamond Jubilee Stadium, Delhi restricted Bengal to 156. Manoj Tiwary’s valiant 87 was in vain as he kept losing partners at the other end and was the last to depart. After Parvinder Awana got the ball rolling with the wicket of Wriddhiman Saha, Sumit Narwal, Pradeep Sangwan, Rajat Bhatia and Varun Sood all struck blows at regular intervals to wrap up the Bengal innings in 40.1 overs. With 69 runs, Gautam Gambhir top scored to help his team chase down the target in 34.3 overs.

Kerala vs Assam: Assam knocked Kerala out of the race for a spot in the finals and will face Delhi in the clash for the title on Sunday.

After bundling Kerala out for 197, Assam cruised to a five-wicket win at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium. PN Das and GK Sharma claimed three wickets each, while AK Das took and J Syed Mohammed and Abu Nechim Ahmed picked a wicket each to restrict Kerala. Jagadeesh V A was the top scorer for Kerala with 89, while RV Gomez struck a crucial half-century lower down the order. Prasanth Parameswaran and Sandeep Warrier then struck early blows to leave Assam reeling on 28 for three. But Tajinder Singh (49) and GK Sharma (52 n.o.) played important knocks to help the team inch towards the target. J Syed Mohammed made an unbeaten 29 with Sharma to help take the team across the line with four overs to spare.
