WI A v Ind A – 2nd Test, Day 4
Summary

India A lose 2nd Test against WI A by 125 runs

Mumbai, June 13: India A succumbed to a massive 125-run loss against a rampant West Indies A side at the Arnos Vale Ground, Kingstown, St Vincent. The visitors began day 4 with the hope that they can pull off yet another closely-fought encounter. The signs were encouraging with Rohit Sharma beginning in confident fashion by smashing Delorn Johnson for a boundary early on.

But the pitch was showing signs of deterioration and Sharma (13) was unlucky to get one that kept low. Veerasammy Permaul accounted for the talented right-hander to grab his first wicket of the innings. 63 for 5 quickly turned to 63 for 6 as Wriddhiman Saha (0) was adjudged lbw off Permaul. It was all falling apart for the visitors as Delorn Johnson got into the act as well by dismissing Rahul Sharma (3). Permaul was proving to be a real handful on the day 4 track. Manoj Tiwary (20) was the next to go after nicking a Permaul delivery to second slip. It was all but over for the visitors as the Windies quickly wrapped up the tail to dismiss India for a paltry 94. Johnson and Permaul shared the ten wickets with the young pacer picking up career best figures of six for 34 from 17 overs. Permaul and Johnson were menacing throughout the match; with the duo grabbing 9 and 8 wickets respectively.

Brief Scores (At end of Day 4):

West Indies A217 (Brathwaite 66, Ahmed 4-48) and 204 (Carter 74, Pagon 67, Darekar 6-67) beat India A202 (Pujara 67, Permaul 5-58) and 94 (Johnson 6-34, Permaul 4-22) by 125 runs

Man-of-the-match: Veerasammy Permaul for pegging the Indian batsmen back throughout the match with 9 scalps to his name.
